WHAT MAKES INNOVATE MARTIAL ARTS DIFFERENT?
We are part of the prestigious American Taekwondo Association (ATA), the largest martial arts organization in the country. ATA has been renowned for its unwavering commitment to excellence, with 130,000 active members and over 1 million students trained since 1969. Our instructors undergo an intensive, rigorous certification process built on 40 years of tradition, cutting-edge research, and development.
HI, MY NAME IS SR. MASTER EVAN TURNER
I am a 7th Degree Black Belt and the proud owner of Innovate Martial Arts. I know firsthand the challenges and uncertainties families face when choosing a martial arts school. Beginning my martial arts journey was one of the most life-changing decisions my parents made for me at 4 years old.
After 30-plus years in the martial arts industry, I’ve been honored to earn 12 ATA World Championship titles, 5 Pan American titles, and multiple championships across Florida, Georgia, Texas, and New Jersey. I was also privileged to represent the ATA and the United States internationally as a member of the inaugural USA Sparring Team. My martial arts journey has also given me the opportunity to compete and teach abroad in countries such as Chile, Brazil, Portugal, South Africa, and India. In 2024, I had the privilege of winning both the Regional and International Instructor of the Year.
In January 2017, I relocated from Texas to New Jersey to launch Innovate Martial Arts. Since then, I’ve been dedicated to serving the communities of Bordentown, Jackson, and Monroe by helping children and adults build confidence, develop leadership, and improve fitness through the life skills and discipline of martial arts.
I have been fortunate to work alongside some of the ATA’s most dedicated leaders. I co-created the ATA MAX curriculum, designed to develop well-rounded Songahm martial artists. By collaborating closely with the ATA Training and Tournament Departments, I hope to continue shaping a bright future for all things Creative and Xtreme within our art.
Today, my mission is to keep growing Innovate Martial Arts into one of the premier schools in the country—empowering every student who walks through our doors to discover their potential, just as I once did.
